An 11 day motorcycle tour of Tuscany and Cinque Terre that hits all the must see places, all the best motorcycling roads in the area, and stays in the historical centres of charming towns such as Siena, Lerici, Modena, Florence, Cortona and Orvieto. This motorcycle tour starts and ends in Rome. With the exception of Modena we always stay two nights in the same hotel. This enables us to really enjoy the evenings and the towns we stay in. On loop days you always have the choice not to ride and relax in a place you can actually do something else apart from ride. Of course the loop rides are also stunning, like all our riding days really. Join us on this fantastic Central Italian motorcycle trip of a lifetime.

Day 1) Rome – Siena: mainly on the Via Cassia SS2 but with some interesting detours like Lake Bolsena, Radicofani and the superb Crete Senesi.
Day 2) The loop ride out of Siena will take us to see the Abbey of San Galgano with its legendary sword in the rock. However, most of all it will be an amazing twisty ride around the Metallifere hills. A visit to Volterra, famous for its alabaster crafts, is also planned.
Day 3) We head for the Cinque Terre and set base in Lerici, just across the Gulf of Poets. Getting there we visit San Gimignano, the Vespa museum in Pontedera, check if the leaning tower of Pisa is still standing, have a gelato in the amphitheater square in Lucca.
Day 4) loop to explore the Cinque Terre. For those of you who want a break from the bikes, you can catch a local ferry that will let you view the Cinque Terre (Five Lands) form the sea. A very relaxing day hopping on and off the ferries and walking around is bliss. For the riders Passo del Bracco awaits. It is a serious contender for best motorcycling road in Italy. Just superb!
Day 5) Lerici – Modena: we cross the Apennines mountains on two legendary passes: Passo del Vestito and Passo dell’Abetone. The first pass crosses the Apuan Alps. We’ll get to see the marble quarries where Michelangelo got the marble for his statues. The second pass leads directly to Maranello, home of the prancing horse red cars. A visit is nearly a must. Modena is an amazing place to stop for the night. Superb food!! Pavarotti was from Modena, so we can also visit his home/museum.
Day 6: Modena – Florence: After a visit to the Ducati factory and museum, we cross the Apennines again and reach Florence for the next two nights. We ride the Passo della Futa Raticosa SS65. The pass that was the birthplace of the first Multistrada 1000DS.
Day 7: loop of Chianti. A day in Florence to relax and see the sites, or the SS222 all the way to Siena and back. Your choice : )!
Day 8: Florence – Cortona: We ride to the Mugello circuit and the Casentino area. The king of all passes in the area is the Muraglione pass SS67. We ride it and visit the small coffee bar at the top, a real Italian bikers café. Cortona is our home for the next two nights. An incredible small ancient town clenched to a steep hill with magnificent views. Cortona goes back to Etruscan times.
Day 9: the loop out of Cortona offers a great opportunity to reach the hometown of Valentino Rossi, Moto Gp legend. The roads getting there and back are stunning and so much fun!!!
Day 10: We ride to Gubbio and Assisi passing by Lake Trasimeno and some nice twisty roads. We then reach Orvieto over Monte Peglia. This road is also known as the University of Motorcycling such is the variety of turns in succession for about 45km. We stay the night bang in the historic center by the magnificent cathedral.
Day 11: We ride back into Rome via lake Vico and lake Bracciano and reach the hotel mid afternoon before the city traffic enters rush hour.
