Swiss High Passes weekend

self guided from mid June to early September or guided for small groups - enquire for prices

The famous Big Six passes, known also as the Paessekarusel, are the main objective of this ride. The Furka 2431mt (7974ft), the Grimsel 2165mt (7101ft), the Susten 2224mt (7295ft), the Neufenen 2478mt (8128ft), the Gottard 2108mt (6914ft) and the Oberalp 2044mt (6704ft). The views are immense and the roads offer great riding. We start in Milan and make our base in Andermatt for 3 nights.

we meet at 12pm and will be ready to set off by no later than 2pm on Friday after a short stint on the highway and a coffee break by Lake Maggiore we cross the border into Switzerland take on the Simplon pass then follow the Rhone river valley all the way to our first big pass, The Furka. Once we descend on the other side we shall reach our hotel for the next 3 nights in Andermatt.

The first loop ride out of Andermatt on Saturday points us in direction Grindelwald to admire the infamous North Face of the Eiger, the Monch and the Jungfrau high Bernese Alps. We run the Furka in the opposite direction, climb the Grimsel and then coast along lake Brienz all the way to Interlaken. From here we reach Grindelwald. To get back to Andermatt we then follow the fast Susten pass

Our second loop on Sunday starts with the Susten and Grimsel in opposite direction, then the Neufenen and back to Andermatt over the old Tremola - St Gotthard pass.

To get back to Milan on Monday we exit Andermatt over the last of the big Six, the Oberalp pass and then head to Lake Como along the Lukmanierpass and will be back in Milan in the early hours of the afternoon. For any Moto Guzzi fans, we shall be passing by the Moto Guzzi factory in Mandello del Lario. For those of you in no rush to get back to Milan, you can visit the Museum between 3pm and 4pm.
