Classic Tuscan Weekend

Tour dates:

2 - 6 May 2013

 

A nice chunk of the best roads Tuscany can offer and a dive into Medieval and Renaissance Tuscany for a real "full immersion" in the Tuscan classic countryside with perfect roads, beautiful scenery and great food and wine!
 

Arrive in Rome on Thursday evening, check into the tour hotel and have dinner with the group.

On Friday we shall collect the bikes in the morning and head straight out of Rome heading for the Siena mainly on the on the SS2 (Via Cassia). We take a small excursion by Lake Vico and then follow the SS2 via Lake Bolsena. (245km)

Saturday is dedicated to a loop south out of Siena covering places like Pienza and the Crete Senesi, Montalcino and San Galgano. Some truely fantastic riding and scenery. (265km)

Sunday is dedicated to a loop ride north of Siena covering places like San Gimignano, Volterra, views of Florence from Piazzale Michelangelo, but most of all dedicated to the fantastic twisty roads of Chianti (280km)

On Monday we leave Siena and head East into Umbria and enjoy the SS71 from Chiusi to Orvieto. After a short stop in Orvieto (possible lunch) we have about 1 hour of highway back into Rome where we aim to be by the evening (290km)

Monday evening is not included in the tour packege. If anyone needs accommodation for this evening in Rome, then please ask CIMT for this to be added.

If minimum number of participants isn't reached the tour can be cancelled or run with different format.

Booking fee 10% of total to be paid on reserving a place on the tour.

 

 

 

what is included:

1) motorcycle rental of a touring prepared bike with side cases, top case, tank bag, locks and alarm, and tubeless puncture repair kit.

2) 4 nights accommodation in 3 star with breakfast and safe parking for the bikes, especially selected for being located in the historical centre of each town

3) Francesco (owner of CIMT) will be your motorcycle guide always on a motorcycle. He will be there as a point of reference and to facilitate things during your trip. You can ride following him or decide to seek your own way. You will always be able to reach him on his mobile phone in case of need or get advice during riding breaks. Think of him as your local source of information and a fellow traveller.

3) entrance to museums or other sites
4) gratuities and tips
5) all lunches and dinners
6) beverages with your dinner
7) airport transfers (we will give you all options - including a chauffer driven car if you wish)
